From Awareness to Action
Are You DJ INC. was founded by the family of Dana Andrews Jr. (DJ) who
passed away on February 6, 2023, from fentanyl poisoning. DJ was an army veteran, who suffered from PTSD, major depressive disorder, general anxiety, and
substance use disorder. During his journey in his battle with mental health
and substance use his family struggled with shame, guilt, frustration, and
misunderstanding while trying to show him that he was loved without
enabling his addiction or isolating him from the ones he loved.
DJ left behind 2 beautiful children August and Olivia, a wife Richelle,
parents Sheila Wright and Freddie Wright (stepdad), his father Dana Andrews Sr, a brother Dexter, 3 sisters Martrice, April, and Danielle, and his grandmother Lola. The loss of their loved one has been devastating but has motivated them to assure that
families are able to attain resources and guidance throughout the journey
of their loved one who suffers from the disease of substance use disorder .
We strive to bring resources, program and workshops within the Bipoc community in order to educate and change the narrative on the stigma the community has on substance use disorder.
In order to provide needed assistance to those who are looking for a sober environment and resources to begin a new sober chapter in their life, Are You DJ INC is accepting donations.
